✨ The Eternal Lamb, Cana & Your Fresh Anointing

📅 May 8, 2026 📖 Topic: The Pre-Existent Glory of Christ, The Wedding at Cana & The New Wine ⏱️ 6 min read

The Lamb Slain Before the Foundation of the World

Before Adam was formed from the dust, redemption was already settled in the eternal counsel of God. Revelation 13:8 declares that the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world. God, foreknowing that His creation through the first Adam would fall at Lucifer's deception, provided redemption before man was even created. The cross was not Plan B — it was the eternal purpose of God before time began!

When God clothed Adam and Eve with animal skins in Genesis 3, the animal blood covered the sins awaiting calvary where the lamb of God took away the sins of the whole world. From Adam to Calvary, every animal offering was a declaration of what was already settled in the mind of God — the Lamb had already been slain in God's eternal purpose! Throughout the four millennia of human history God sovereignly directed every event toward the moment of incarnation — watching, waiting, working. Then at Incarnation the eternal Son emptied Himself of glory, taking the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. Philippians 2:6-7 This voluntary self-emptying — the kenosis — was the love of God poured out for humanity. Then in John 17:5 Jesus prayed: "And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was." He was asking to receive back the divine glory He had voluntarily laid aside at incarnation!

Four Millennia of God's forebearance

Four Millennia of God's Forebearance

For four thousand years God "in His divine forbearance He had passed over and ignored former sins without punishment. Romans 3:25b amp" The blood of the animals covered the sins but the blood of Jesus took away the sins. John 1:29 "Behold the lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world"

During the old testament God watched generations and brought Noah's flood destroying the corrupted nephilim. To Abraham He declared that the sins of the Amorites were not yet full, and He waited five centuries before bringing Israel to dispossess resurgence of nephilim.Gen 15:16 "for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete." He raised up David to slay Goliath, used Israel to terminate the resurgence corrupted Nephilim that was resisting the virgin birth. God was intricately involved in every detail of human history! That is why the Bible traces the history of Israel and prophesies about times and nations in detail

Cana: Glory Manifested in Weakness

John 2:1-2 — And the third day a wedding took place in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. And Jesus also was invited, as well as His disciples, to the wedding." John 2:1 "And the third day a wedding took place in Cana of Galilee". Cana means weak. He came to our weakness! The wine ran out — as it always does with humanity. Our happiness runs out. Our resources are finite. Our wisdom reaches its limit. But Mary prayed saying "They have no wine." and the glory of God was manifested!

There were six stone waterpots. Six is the number of man as man was created on the sixth day. These vessels were unclean, used for Jewish purification rites. These vessels typify unclean humanity containing unclean water from feet washing. Yet Jesus said fill them to the brim! Ephesians 5:26 "That He might sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing of the water in the word." Water is a type of the Word of God. As the Word of God fills unclean human vessels, the uncleanness is cleansed and death is transformed into life-giving wine. Humanity's wine takes years sometimes decades to mature — but the Lord's working is instant!

John records: John 2:11"This beginning of signs Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee and manifested His glory." He manifested glory while emptied of glory — a foretaste of resurrection! Notice John 2:1 says "the third day" — not the fourth, though three days had already passed in chapter one. Meaning Jesus worked the miracle in his ascension glory — for it was on the third day that He rose and entered His eternal glory!

Cana — Glory Manifested in Weakness
"This beginning of signs Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee and manifested His glory, and His disciples believed into Him." — John 2:11 (Recovery Version)
The Best Wine Is Saved for Now
"Every man sets out the good wine first, and when they have drunk freely, then that which is worse; you have kept the good wine until now." — John 2:10 (Recovery Version)

Receive Your Fresh Anointing

The master of the feast declared: John 2:10 —"Every man sets out the good wine first, and when they have drunk freely, then that which is worse; you have kept the good wine until now." The best wine was not at the beginning of the feast — it was at the point of emptiness, at the moment of need, after the human supply had run out entirely. The Lord is ministering that only him is able to minister and meet humanity needs!

Now Jesus is ascended and glorified with the glory He had before the creation of the world. He pours out the new wine of the Holy Spirit upon His church. Acts 2:33 "Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear." The new wine of the glorified Christ dispensed into every yielded heart!

That which was your weakness, is strength in Christ. That which ran out, is bounty in Christ. Fill your vessel with the Word, bring it to the Lord in prayer, and watch Him transform your emptiness into the finest wine that heaven produces. Jesus is glorified — and He is manifesting His glory in your life so that many may believe through your testimony. Hallelujah!

🙏 Prayer

Lord Jesus — the Lamb slain before the foundation of the world. Lord You laid aside Your glory for my sake — I worship You today. You came to Cana, to my weakness, to my emptiness. My wine has run out but You are here. Fill me to the brim with Your Word and Your Spirit. Transform my uncleanness into life-giving wine. I receive my fresh anointing right now. Manifest Your glory in my life so that those around me may believe into You. To the ascended, glorified Son of Man — all honour and glory! Amen.
