The Tabernacle: God's Desire to Dwell Among Us

The whole assembly of Israel gathered at Shiloh and set up the Tent of Meeting, and the land was subdued before them (Josh 18:1). Before conquering the land, they established God's dwelling place! Throughout scripture God's primary desire is to dwell among His people. When the Tabernacle was set up, Israel subdued the land- Israel won. Hallelujah! Israel had the fire that fell from heaven igniting the burnt offering altar commissioned by Moses.(Lev 9:24).

This brazen altar speaks of Jesus blood, who wholly gave Himself to God and is pleasing to God the Father. The fire that lights the lampstand and incense altar comes from the burnt offering altar—only Christ enlightens believers and makes intercession acceptable before God (Ex 27:20, Lev 16:12-13). Before fire from heaven, blood must be sprinkeld.

The Priest's Daily Journey: Fellowship with Christ

Daily, the priest journeyed through the Tabernacle: burnt offering altar, laver, table of showbread, lampstand, incense altar, and once yearly the Holy of Holies. This represents daily fellowship with Christ! At the burnt offering altar, we repent and let fire from God's throne burn our flesh to ashes. At the laver, we wash with the Word, being cleansed and sanctified (Eph 5:26). At the table of showbread, we let the word of Christ dwell in us richly teaching and admonishing one another. Col 3:16

At the lampstand, we gaze at the beauty of the Lord and enquire from him Ps27:4. At the incense altar, we fellowship intimately with Christ in prayer—He is the incense added to our prayers (Rev 8:3-4). The final destination is the Holy of Holies, where we receive mercy for our time of need. For the cherubim overshadow the mercy sit sprinkled with the blood of Jesus (Lev 16:14-15).

Priest's Journey

Egypt, Wilderness, Canaan: Three Spiritual States

Egypt resembles the flesh (bondage). The wilderness represents the soulish believer unable to possess their inheritance (wandering). Canaan represents the spiritual believer possessing promises in the good land (conquest and rest). The land is a type of Christ—your possession and enjoyment of Him depends on whether you yield to the Spirit, soul, or flesh.

The spiritual believer inherits their portion by living priestly-tabernacle tent of meeting, being led by Joshua a type of Christ, yielding to Melchizedek (ascended Christ Jesus) typified by Eliezer the High Priset. They are in the land flowing with milk and honey. Milk means being useful in Christ to benefit others. Honey means being productive in the kingdom (Judg 14:8-9).

Intentionally Diligent: Five Keys to Possessing Your Inheritance

Joshua 18 says Israel was slack in inheriting the land."And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?" (KJV) Joshua commanded them to send representatives to search out the land. They reported back describing the land in a book. Here are five keys: 1) Be Aggressive not lazy—God is never slack in fulfilling His promises (2 Pet 3:9). 2) Research the land—study books, read reports, learn and try new things daily and you will enter into your inheritance. 3) 40 days principle— explore, leave your comfort zone, master the terrain, grow intentionally. 4) Engage the best Coach and Mentor—Christ is the Captain of our salvation (Heb 2:10). 5) Subdue the Giants— Attempt the unbelievable, accomplish the impossible (Heb 7:17).

"So the LORD gave Israel all the land that He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they possessed it and dwelt in it" (Josh 21:43). "Not a word failed of every good thing that the LORD had spoken to the house of Israel; all came to pass" (Josh 21:45). God keeps His promises! Possess your land!

Lord Jesus, You are victorious, triumphant and great in conquest. As I act on your word the Giants and mighty nations whose walls reach to heaven are subdued before me in Jesus wonderfull name. Thank you Captain of my salvation and my High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.Not one of Your promises to me will fail! Amen.
