Focusing on doing the will of the one who sent me and to finish his work
The Urim was a remarkable device placed beneath the twelve transparent gemstones of the High Priest's breastplate. Each stone was engraved with one of the names of the tribes of Israel.
The Urim, which means "lights" or "illuminator," was able to light up as it contained oil. When the High Priest sought God's direction, the Urim would illuminate specific letters on the gemstones, spelling out God's answer and guidance for Israel.
The Urim represents Christ. He is the illuminator. He is the light of man, the light of the world, the light of life, and the bright morning star.
He is the light that shines out of darkness. He is the light shining through His anointed saints in the Church who dispense His light. The anointing of the Anointed One illuminates the light through the transparent gemstones—the Church.
The Urim and Thummim were instruments for the leading of the Israelites. The Thummim, meaning "perfector," would provide the missing consonants so that the priest could read and know exactly the speaking and direction of God.
Today, beloved, the Lord leads us and speaks to us through the illumination of His Word and the perfection of the anointing that abides in us. We are sons of God, led by His Spirit!
Lord Jesus, thank You for being the light of my life. Illuminate my path today and lead me by Your Spirit into Your perfect will. Make me a transparent vessel that shines forth Your glory. Amen.
