✨ The Son of Man: God Mingled with Humanity

📅 April 17, 2026 📖 Topic: The Incarnation, Ascension & The Compounded Anointing Oil ⏱️ 6 min read

Before Time Began: The Trinity Over the Deep

In Genesis 1:1c, "The Spirit of God hovered over the face of the deep waters", incubating over the frozen earth. God recovered the earth from his judgement after the fall of lucifer.

Trinity of God is without beginning as God the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. However before incarnation God had no human element in him. Jesus was the Son of God in the heavens. Virgin birth brought forth the Son of Man. Divinity mingled with humanity. Jesus the Son of God became the Son of man. God was mingled with humanity. Jesus ascended to heaven with a human body. Now in heaven we have God who is a living human being.

Incarnation split time into Before Christ and After death of Christ. Our calenders proclaim Jesus is a man in heaven!

"Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God." — Hebrews 10:5-7

Jesus the Son of Man

The Son of God Became the Son of Man

In his earth walk Jesus referred to himself as the Son of man. To the disciples he asked "who do men say I the Son of Man am?" (Matt 16:13). During trial Jesus was asked "are you the Son of God?" He responded "you will see the Son of man coming from the heavens with power in the clouds" (Matt 26:64). In Revelation we see him as the Son of man walking in the midst of the seven candlesticks (Rev 1:13). When Stephen was stoned he said he saw the heavens opened and Son of man standing (Acts 7:56). In Acts 16:6-7 the Spirit of Jesus forbade Apostle Paul and Silas and directed them where to go preach.

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." — John 1:14

The Ascended Christ: Now the Spirit of the Lord

John 7:39 says the Holy Spirit had not yet come because Jesus had not yet been glorified through death, resurrection and ascension. Peter on Pentecost taught that after resurrection Jesus ascended and received the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:33). Jesus became pneumatic, He became the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, The Allos-Parakletos. Afterwards in John 20:22 Jesus breathed upon the disciples saying "Receive the Holy Spirit". Jesus infused himself into the disciples and they became born again. At Pentecost Jesus poured himself upon the praying church as the Holy Spirit. Scripture says "anyone without the Spirit of Christ is none of his" (Rom 8:9). Though Jesus has a physical body in heaven he became Spirit. Acts 2:36 declares Jesus in his ascension was made both Lord and Christ. So the Spirit of Christ is Christ. The Spirit of the Lord is the Son of Man — crucified, resurrected, ascended, glorified and enthroned. 2 Corinthians 3:17 says "now the Lord is the Spirit" and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. Hallelujah! Jesus Christ is the Spirit of the Lord.

"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." — 2 Corinthians 3:17

The Compounded Anointing Oil of Exodus 30
"Moreover the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels, And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin: And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil." — Exodus 30:22-25

The Compounded Anointing Oil: A Type of the Full Christ

After the ascension the Holy Spirit is inseparably identified with Jesus — crucified, risen, and glorified. Jesus the last Adam 'became a life-giving Spirit' (1 Corinthians 15:45). The Holy Spirit is called 'the Spirit of Jesus' (Acts 16:7), 'the Spirit of Christ' (Romans 8:9), 'the Spirit of His Son' (Galatians 4:6), The Spirit of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:19), The Spirit of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:17), The Spirit of Life (Romans 8:2), The Spirit of Him who raised Jesus (Romans 8:11), The Comforter/Advocate (John 14:16), The Spirit of Truth (John 16:13), The Spirit of Grace (Hebrews 10:29), The Spirit of Glory (1 Peter 4:14), The Eternal Spirit (Hebrews 9:14). These titles were impossible before Calvary. The Spirit who now indwells every believer carries within Him not merely divine power, but the very humanity, death, and resurrection life of the Lord Jesus — the full Christ dispensed into human spirits. He is a person — a person of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Exodus 30:22-25 teaches about the compounded anointing oil. It was forbidden to be imitated or applied to anyone else implying scripture specifically prophesied Christ. It had four additive ingredients: Olive oil as the base represents the devine Holy Spirit with no human element in him. The ingredients #1 myrrh — represents the sufferings of Christ and the cross. #2 cinnamon — represents the sweetness, pleasantness, fragrance of Christ's ascension breaking forth from death and acceptance of Christ's work by God the Father. #3 calamus — represents the resurrection and ascension of Christ. #4 cassia — (snake repelling plant) represents the repelling power of Christ. This compounded oil was a type of Christ who being God (olive oil), was crucified (myrrh), accomplished redemption (cinnamon), became heavenly minister in the Tabernacle of God (calamus), and has power over fallen angels, demons & evil spirits (cassia). The anointing oil proclaimed the Son of Man, his suffering, his attaining redemption for humanity, his heavenly ministry and victory over Satan.

🙏 Prayer

Lord Jesus — Son of God and Son of Man — I give myself to prayer and the ministry of Your Word. I want to know You, Lord. Not just about You, but You Yourself — the full Christ, the compounded anointing oil, the Spirit of the Lord who brings liberty. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Express Yourself through me. Let my life be a vessel for the risen, ascended, glorified Christ. I yield my flesh, my soul, and my spirit to You. Have Your way in me today. Amen.
